Dr. Bill Epperson has been on faculty at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University since July 2007. He serves as professor and Department Head of Pathobiology and Population Medicine. A graduate of The Ohio State University, receiving the DVM in 1985, he was in clinical practice for 7 years before earning a Masters Degree in Veterinary Preventive Medicine from Ohio State in 1990. He is boarded certified by the ACVPM with a subspecialty certification in Epidemiology.
He has formerly served as extension veterinarian for 10 years at South Dakota State University and for 3 years at Ohio State University. These appointments featured a high proportion of outreach activity, with interest focused on infectious disease in cattle. He maintains an interest in cattle health, applications of epidemiology in livestock production, and public health.
